The Laboratory
Named after the famous Irish botanist -
Robert
Lloyd Praeger this Laboratory Centre provides
educational aids such as Microscopy with
attached video camera and monitors, to observe supervised
investigations of specimens collected through "Pond
Dipping",
Botanising, Insect Trapping, etc.
.A growing library of
micro slides facilitates teachers in introducing diverse
topics in the sciences at several levels. Basic facilities
enable many hands-on educational projects |

Audio Visual Display
A computer based multimedia Audio Visual presentation
takes its audience back 10,000 years to the Ice Age and presents
the surrounding countryside as it appeared at that time.
It illustrates the individuality of the Irish Countryside
from this point, through the early Christian period, right
down to the formation of the present Country Park . |

Exhibits in the Laboratory
The visitor can identify with many "live" exhibits
in the Laboratory, such as Wild Birds Nests, Birds Eggs,
Honey-comb, Wild Flowers, Tree Trunks, Pine tree Cones, samples
of Peat and many other phenomena peculiar to Moorland, Wetlands
and Wodded areas. |

The Laboratory can accommodate up to 50 students
per class
